Research interests: Ancient proteins, specifically: detecting migration from isotopes in hair and bone amino acids; speciation of animal bone fragments and detecting ancient disease, through bone collagen proteomics. Palaeopathologies relating to diet. Taphonomy and diagenesis, i.e. processes affecting bone preservation after death in particular the effects of cooking and burial environment on bone preservation.
